Having lived and worked in London for 10 years, Gary found his love for art whilst living and working in London.
With a decade of art experience and having spent six years at Stephan Welz & Co as Head of the Paintings Department, Gary joins Omni as the Head of Department for Fine Art as well as being a member of the Board of Directors. With a flair for exhibitions and overseeing major art collections; Gary’s proficiency extends from the private sector to the artists themselves.
FASHION DESIGN – CAPE TOWN COLLEGE
Born in Canada, Karen has been developing her love for the arts since high school. After having studied art history and fashion design, she spent eight years as Head of Stephan Welz & Co.’s Silver Department. With her notable expertise in over-seeing the Jewellery Department, Karen joins Omni as Head of Silver and will offer administrative services within the Jewellery Department.
B.A. (FA) – UNIVERSITY OF CAPE TOWN
Boasting 15 years experience in the auction industry, Shona joins Omni as Head of the Decorative Arts Department as well as being a member of the Board of Directors.
Having majored in sculpture and working abroad as a jewellery and graphic designer prior to her South African return, Shona began her career in the auction world in 2002 at Stephan Welz & Co where she worked as the Cape Town Office Manager and Head of the Ceramics Department until October 2016.
B.F.A (HON), P.D.J.M – RHODES UNIVERSITY
Born and educated in Cape Town, Warren read for postgraduate degrees in art history, fine art and journalism at Rhodes University. He has been living between Cape Town and Europe. After 6 years as owner, valuator and auctioneer at Provenance Auction House, he has returned to pursue his love for art and design, to launch Omni Auctioneers and provide Cape Town and the rest of Africa with a formidable Auction House, soon to be a household name.
